crane

Enzo had an epic day today. He woke up in a happy mood, we got everyone together and headed down to the Rose Bowl for some doggy catch. After we dropped the dogs off at home, we went out for breakfast. After breakfast, we went to a big construction site where Enzo spotted a giant crane the other day and watched the action for a while - it was all going on in a giant hole the size of a city block. The guy way way up who was working the crane even waved to Enzo. He loved watching all the dump trucks and cement mixers and the giant crane.

We went for a drive in the car and a nippy nap, stopped at home for supplies, got a mango smoothie then we went off to school. We talked with Adrienne awhile about his meltdowns in class and got some good advice from her. He had his best day in school yet. He only clamored to go outside once, he was able to play with the other kids and moms, was in a great mood the entire time. He got hungry before snack so mommy kept a box of raisins in her pocket and snuck them to him to tide him over. He ate 2 servings of snack and stayed at the table the entire time. When we went outside he watched in fascination while Chloe ate dirt. He held Ms Adrienne's hand to go inside for closing circle. Mommy was super proud of him and very very encouraged.

Milestones: He surprises us every day by saying words we had no idea he knew — "pepper", "cloud". We heard Alex asking him what color certain things were and she made us laugh when she said, "How come everything is blue? We need to go over your colors again". A few more words he can say — crane, car, baby, flower, shoe, fish, book, cheese, house, keys, tree, grass, boots, hat, goose, cow, pig, penguin ("peng"). And probably more I can't think of right now. They're coming so fast, it's hard to keep track of.

Nanny Note: After he ate we went to the park to play, then we went to visit Grandma Jean. The kitten loved all of Enzo's wind up toys. We came home and watched WTWTA then Wes came to play.

After school, Alex was able to make it to the house and we dropped Enzo off and ran some errands. We had some takeout for dinner then went on our family walk. Right after dinner and before our walk Enzo asked for milk which is unusua for him. After walk it was the usual bubbly bath, snuggy with more milk and some books, but Enzo sat up after his milk and said he was hungry and asked for another snack, which he has never done before. We gave him some crackers and raisins and grapes that he devoured. We read more books, played more games, gave his teeth a good brushing then it was off to bed without a peep.
