enzo m.d.
After breakfast, we drove out to the valley for his 18 month checkup. Enzo slept for a bit on the way out. We stopped by to see mommy who has been working for the last 72 hours. Before we saw Zoe, Enzo grabbed a photo of her from her office and was walking up and down the hallway saying "ma ma ma". We showed off Enzo to all the nurses and doctors in Zoe's department, and then I took him to his appointment.
The doctors visit was a total disaster. The nurse kind of manhandled him and set him off crying. Then we struggled to weigh him, and that made it worse. He was having such a meltdown that the doctor couldn't even really examine him. He got a couple shots too, but they didn't bother him. Over the edge by then anyway.
He is 33 inches tall, 25 pounds, and his head circumference is 20 inches. So 66% percentile in height, 33% percentile in weight, and he has the head circumference of an average 3 year old.
He was fine in the car on the way home, and was happy to see Alex back home.
I was working in the office, and I heard Enzo crying and crying when Alex tried to put him down for a nap. I felt bad, so went out to let her go home, and to try to comfort the little man. He calmed down pretty quickly. And was very happy when mommy finally came home. Enzo fell asleep on the way to the nursery to look at plants. When he woke up we strolled him around while he ate fish crackers.
We hung around the house before dinner, playing in the front yard and in the living room. Enzo ate a small dinner and had a "pop". Mommy had to head out to a parents meeting at the school, so daddy let Enzo watch some of the World Series and drink his milk before bath. The doctor said no more bottle today, so he got his milk in a sippy cup instead.
After bath, we read books for a bit, and then Enzo was ready for sleep at about 8:PM.
