new classroom
He woke up again at his usual 6:30AM, but after another small bottle of milk, he fell asleep on my chest for another 90 minutes! I fell asleep again also, and then had to scramble to get him breakfast before Alex showed up.
I met Alex and Enzo up at school a couple hours later. He had been to the park and took a short nap in the truck. We were told to get there a little early, so we did, but no other kids in our class showed up for almost 45 minutes. And then only one other kid showed up. It was our first day in the new building. I liked the temporary tent better.
Enzo started off class really well, interacting with the teacher and playing along with the songs. He was having fun playing in the classroom despite there being only one other kid there. But then, as usual he started getting antsy 30 minutes into class about wanting to go outside and play. He doesn't understand why at home we encourage him to play outside, and at school he is supposed to stay inside. So that plus a strange nights sleep, and no lunch, equaled a total crying, boneless, laying on the floor meltdown from which he could not recover. So we left and went home. Of course he was fine by the time we got home, and was happy to Alex again when she knocked on the door.
When Zoe got home, we played and read books for a while before Wes and Eric came over. Zoe made a great turkey pot pie while we all played in the backyard with Betty and Harriet. Both the kids did pretty well with dinner and were rewarded with a popsicle which has somehow become an after dinner tradition around here.
After dinner, we had a very bubbly bath followed by some much needed snuggle time between mommy and Enzo. He got upset when we said it was time for bed, so we said "one more book and then bed", and he sat right down in Zoe's lap and waited for the story to begin. One more book turned into two, and then he was ready to sleep. Kisses and squeezes from mommy and daddy and then into the crib.
