pinwheel

Mr woke us all up early again this morning. After a brief stop at Peets for coffee and a couple bites of breakfast, we went to the park to play. We were there so early that we were the only people there, except for some guy asleep under the slide. We played for a while and Enzo got super dirty and nearly fell off the steps a few times. The highlight was a very close encounter with a hungry squirrel. We stopped again for a little more coffee and something to munch on as we drove across town to Griffith Park.

Enzo fell asleep on the way to Griffith, so we sat in the shade and let him nap for a few more minutes. Zoe woke him up so we could be first in line for train tickets. Enzo loved the little train ride through the park. He held his pinwheel in the wind, and waved at squirrels. We tried a pony ride but Enzo didn't want anything to do with that.

Back home, we played with trains and then had a snack. Wes stopped by for a bit and we played in the front yard. Enzo fell and hit his head on the brick and also fell and scraped his leg on the bushes. After Wes left, Mommy went to the grocery store, so Enzo and I watched a little Nemo and took a nap. He was not happy about being put down for a nap, and cried a good long time. I stayed strong and let him work it out. After about 30 minutes he finally fell asleep, and had a good long nap.

He was in great spirits when he woke up, and after another snack, we walked down to feed the ducks. Enzo would stink his little arm through the fence, and the big white duck took the bread right out of his hand. A couple times his hand got a little nibbled. He wasn't so sure that he liked that.

Back home, we played in the front yard again, and then again with trains and Nemo while mommy cooked dinner. Enzo didn't eat much, but he did enjoy his post-dinner popsicle. We bumped into the Pfleegers on our family walk, and continued on with them.

Enzo was getting tired and maybe his teeth hurting him too by the time we got home. He took a short teary bath, and gulped down a huge bottle of milk right after. That really helped his mood, and he was his usual funny self for bedtime stories with Zoe. I was downstairs cleaning up when I heard "da da da da" down the stairs, so I went up to read Enzo a book, and help Zoe tuck him in.
