look. close.
We ate breakfast in the valley. Enzo loved sitting in the back seat with Shellie on the drive out there, reading his animal encylopedia. Shellie, on the other hand, just about vomited from reading in the back seat for 30 minutes. We had a fun breakfast, and then did some baby shopping with Shellie. We found a lot of great stuff, including the best double jogging stroller, which Zoe secretly bought for her.
Enzo fell asleep on the way over to hospital, where Zoe scanned the twins. He woke up as we drove into the parking structure after only a ten minute nap. Turns out that was the only sleep he would have all day. I stayed with Enzo in the car, reading books and listening to music, while the girls went in to the hospital. The twins look good apparently. On the way home, Susie took over reading duties in the backseat. Zoe had to stay and work this afternoon.
Back home, we hung around the house. Enzo sat on the couch with Shellie and Susie for the longest time - sitting in their laps, reading books, showing off his animal collection, and eating a big snack. He dragged them both into his kitchen, and then upstairs to read more books. It was great to see him so relaxed and sweet around them both. The four of us ran out to pick up the dogs. Enzo and Susie read more books in the back. He was impressing us all saying all his animal names.
Zoe brought home a pasta and pizza dinner. Enzo ate quickly and then asked for a pop. We kept him at the table with his dot paints. He was really in to it. He said "wow!" after completing each work, and made us all "look. close." at each one.
Enzo gave Shellie and Susie each a big hug and kiss when they left tonight. Enzo watched Nemo for a few minutes, and then took an early bath. He was really fading. After two consecutive 60 page Little Bear books, I put him in his crib. He cried a bit tonight, which is unusual. For about 15 minutes, he stood in his crib saying - "daddy. mommy. down. milk. nemo. books. no." - over and over. Poor tired little bear.
