sliding
After breakfast we got him a Jamba Juice and headed off to the park - we spent a long time there chasing squirrels, swinging, climbing on all the equipment and sliding down the big boy slide. Enzo has gotten much more physically confident and he was delighted with himself that he was sliding so well.
After the park, we went home to hang out with the puppies and watch a bit of Nemo. We visited Wes and her daddy at their house, and after awhile he just stopped what he was doing, walked to the door, and said, "home". He was ready to leave!
He took a nap, then had a nice iChat with Dee and Buzz and Grampy, although Enzo was not in a particularly chatty mood. We ran some errands in Silver Lake. We went into a funky toy store and he was fascinated with a cheap kiddie guitar, but he plays it like a sitar. He also got a super cute little Taro Gomi monkey.
Wes and her daddy came over for dinner, and everyone enjoyed mommy's highbrow spaghetti-o's with mini homemade meatballs. Wesley impressed us most of all because she ate almost as much as mommy.
After dinner, we went to La Canada to meet the Metcalfs for Pinkberry. We saw a some fire trucks parked on the road - the firemen were getting dinner at a takeout place - and Enzo got to examine the trucks up close. He remarked that they were “big” and “red”, and they a “hose” for the “water”. Enzo, Luke and Gabe got yelled at for jumping on the plastic lighted rock-like seats outside of Pinkberry. They didn’t really seem to care though, and kept doing it anyway.
After dessert, we went home and took a nice bath. Enzo now loves to tell us the story of the "elf" (which is really the goblin from one his Little Bear books). He always starts by saying, "one day" then says "elf. walking. woods. cave. bump. jump shoes! run. pit pat. tree. peek out. eeeee!" Sometimes when he tells the story, the elf is walking through the woods with his dog Harriet.
