feeling small

After a nice morning snuggle with mommy, and a bite of cereal, Enzo and I headed out for breakfast. We went to Cindy's for the usual. Although he was in a good mood this morning, he didn't seem too interested in eating. He picked at his food, and played with his trucks and "man". He is still coughing up a storm, and wiping his runny nose on my sleeve when he needs to.

We got back home just in time to use the potty. Without getting in to too much detail. Let me just say that it was pretty impressive.

Nanny Note: We went to Kidspace and played a bit. We ran into Sophia and played with her for a while then we left. Enzo fell asleep in the car. When we got home, Enzo had a small lunch, we watched Goodnight Gorilla then we left to go see the construction site. Enzo fell asleep in the car again on the way home. He didn't feel much like playing today.

Zoe is on call tonight, so Enzo and I went out to get dinner. We got burritos over near doggie daycare. He seemed excited about the prospect of his burrito with "rice. beans. cheese.", but when he finally got it, he looked up at me like, "are you kidding me?". He did take a few bites and tore off some tortilla to munch on as well.

We walked across the lot to the pet shop. Inside we saw all the usual suspects - turtles, fish, etc.. And we picked up the "crazy mutts", as Enzo called them. I noticed Enzo was trying to poop, so I asked to wait until we got home so he could use the potty. I asked if he understood, and he said yes. And he did wait, and then used the potty when we got home. Such a big boy.

He asked to watch some obscure thing on one of his DVDs, which took me a long time to find. He sat on the couch asking for "hat? hat? hat?" until I found it. Enzo coughed, and said "enzo sick". I asked him if he felt more sick, and he said "yes", which made me nervous. But then I asked him if he felt less sick, and he said "yes". Then I asked him if he felt good, and he said "yes". Then I asked him if there was anything I could get him to make him feel better, and he said "noodles". I asked him again if he really wanted noodles or if he was just being funny. He said he really wanted noodles, so I made him some. And surprisingly, he actually ate some.

Halfway through his bath, he looked up at me and said "daddy?", and I said "yes, enzo", and he said "hug. kiss.", and so we did. It was getting late, so we only read one long Little Bear book. He almost fell asleep in the bean bag while I was reading, but perked right up and asked for "one book" when I suggested it was time for "teeth". I made him promise that after this one book, he would let me brush his teeth without getting upset. He promised, we read our book ("elf"), brushed our teeth, and then went to sleep.
