hi mom
When I got back from downtown, Enzo and I drove out to pick up the dogs. We had to stop and see the amphibians and reptiles again, and the fish too. Enzo thoughtfully grabbed two dog bones out of the dish to feed the puppies. "betty. harriet. treat." Betty ate both, but it's the thought that counts.
We dropped the "crazy mutts" at home and then drove to see Zoe on call at the hospital. He was playing with an old cell phone on the drive out there. Holding it up to his ear, saying "hi, mom. yes. call back."
Enzo wasn't much interested in eating his Thai food, but he was happy to see mommy. He did his usual deer in the headlights routine (aka Michigan J Frog) when faced with a room full of cooing nurses. They all must think he's mute. Literally not a word or a smile out of him.
After giving mommy a hug and kiss, we drove home. Enzo kept asking for a "prize" (short for surprise) from the armrest compartment, where he knows I keep some emergency toys. He wasn't happy when I ran out of armrest surprises. I need to restock.
We took a short bath. Enzo made me sing the "diver man song", which is sort of an improved version of the the Spiderpig theme song which is the old Spiderman song. We read a few books. I know Enzo was tired because he asked for "one book" at 7:45 and happily let me brush his teeth before I put him in the crib.
