fairy tears
Alex took Enzo for a couple hours, and then I took him up to school. We stopped for a hot dog bagel on the way up, but Enzo wasn't too interested. He didn't sleep before class, which made me nervous but he ended up having a really good day — playing by himself and interacting pretty well the other kids.
I thought it was going to be the best school day we'd ever had until Enzo swallowed a polished glass gem (aka, fairy tears) about the size of a dime. I saw him put it in his mouth, so I reached out to grab his arm as he walked by. He spun away from me, lost his balance and landed flat on his back. He started to choke, so I spun him around and thumped him on the back a few times. Too late, it was gone. Scared the shit out of me and him. We managed to pull it together to finish up class, and I brought Enzo home and put him to sleep. Or so I thought.
Enzo was tired and fussy tonight, so we just chilled with some rat movie, and ate dinner on the couch. He liked his leftover pasta again tonight. We went for a short walk before bath. He got upset because I wouldn't let him bring his rake into the house, and cried through his bath. Tired boy drank his milk and listened to a few stories before going to bed a bit early.
