morning has come

Zoe had the morning off today, so we made pancakes at home, and then went out for a coffee. We made a visit to Whole Foods, and a quick stop at the park, before heading up to Waldorf. Enzo fell asleep in the car on the way because he was up so early this morning.

Everyone was happy to see Zoe at school today. Having both parents there is kind of against the rules, but we got an exception today because Zoe hasn't been able to take Enzo to class in a while. He was happier today too. I think he really liked having us both there. While Enzo was playing outside after snack, Zoe tried to sneak off to her meeting, but Enzo spotted her. On her second try, I distracted him with the water pump. In the car on the way home, he sang "morning has come. night is away." and did the hand movements.

Nanny Note: We played with trains and made food in the kitchen. We played indoors at Kidspace.

I took Enzo to Thursday market to get dinner tonight. After waiting in line for too long, I let Enzo loose from the stroller, and he was off running. He ran around the picnic area, saying hi to strangers, watching the big kids play, picking berries of the bushes, and occasionally checking back in to get another bit of his quesadilla. He saw his friends Jake and Eliza, and made a point to walk up a say goodbye to Eliza when she left. On the way back to the car, we stopped for a mint chip cone.

Before bed, we walked around the block, stopping to say hi to the Pfleegers on our way.
