stop
When we got home, we played in the back with the hose and pool and puppies for a good long time. Enzo got soaked, and had to come inside and chill out before his nap. Mommy went to run some errands while daddy took Enzo to the pet store for another plant, some snails and more fish for the tank. Enzo crashed out when they got home.
When Enzo woke up, he had a good lunch of sushi and onigiri. He took a particularly generous bite of shrimp at one point, being a little greedy, then turned around again and said, "too big bite". We played for a long time outside with his new octopus water toy - he laughed so hard watching daddy jump over it and when daddy picked him up to jump over it.
Afterwards we just rolled around in the grass and sun, wrestling around and dodging the bees. he got excited when he saw a butterfly, "Fuzzy came back!" He played quietly by himself for a long time, and it was really fun to listen in on his whispered conversation with himself as he played with 4 plastic dinosaurs. They were all fighting at first, then they started hugging, then something happened, one cried and they all started fighting again. He then took
them all on a ride on his firetruck and all was well.
We watched a bit of Toy Story in the hottest part of the afternoon and took a walk. We had some Chinese take out for dinner and Enzo ate quietly at the table and ate a ton of noodles and pork and shrimp. We took another family walk with the dogs after dinner, and Enzo at one point ran out into the street (on a quiet side street, not the main drag. But still.) Ralph yelled at for him to stop, but Enzo turned around, started laughing and ran faster. When we caught him, Ralph gave him a VERY firm talking to about running out on the street.
It must've made quite an impression on him because right before he went to sleep tonight, Enzo blurted out something about running in the street, and the cars. He was able to say to us, solemnly, "no running in the street. Cars." and able to agree to STOP when mommy, daddy, or Allie told him to STOP. Daddy said, "Enzo scared daddy when he ran into the street" and Enzo looked so concerned as he said, "Enzo scared daddy. Sea lion scared daddy".
