big boy bed

Enzo was very touchy today for some reason, after his great day yesterday. He was sweet this morning with mommy in bed, saying hello to the baby as he does everyday now. We plan to name her Emi, and he refers to her by name now.

We went out for breakfast and it was touch and go the entire time, then we went to the Hollywood farmer's market. The produce is unbelievable right now, but Enzo did not appreciate it. He perked up when we sat down in front of the balloon man and he made him a fish. Coincidentally we sat next to one of his PO classmates.

Milestones: Enzo's first night in his own big boy bed. No more crib for the little guy.

After the market we came home and hung out. We had a snack, played in the pool and made music with his harmonica and violin. At one point he fell forwards in the pool flat on his face, and he jumped up, sputtering and laughing and said, "I'm crazy! I'm kookoo!" He even did the finger motion next to his head for "crazy" He took a bad tumble down the sidewalk and hit his head on the pavement with a big thump. We brought him back inside and put some ice on the giant goose egg that was forming but he recovered pretty easily.

Mommy went grocery shopping while daddy and Enzo put his new Ikea chair together. Daddy calls it, very appropriately, Enzo's "throne", and when Enzo wants the shade to be pulled down, he says, "privacy please!"
Enzo watched a movie while daddy put his new big boy bed together and mommy got dinner together. When he first saw his bed, he yelled, "I'm excited!"

It was tough putting him to bed, though. We did our usual routine of bath, books then teeth. When we turned out the light and left, he totally freaked out and started crying, which he never does. He sounded so distressed that we went back in there. Mommy ended up sitting next to him, talking with him until he finally fell asleep an hour later. he did say some funny things, though - "Lie down, Buzz and close your eyes, right now! (mimicking mommy); "I'm yawning like Totoro"; "Daddy is downstairs making coffee" Hopefully he will get used to his big boy bed soon.
