Enzo came into bed with us, and it took us a while to extract ourselves and get out of the house. We went to the bakery for the first time in a while. The place seems to be hurting. The cinnamon rolls get smaller and smaller each time, like trying to save money on flour and water. Enzo and I came home to wait for Alex. He sat quietly looking through a book he found in my car.
Nanny Note: We played at the Space of Kids for a while then went shopping at Angels for craft supplies. At home we had a small lunch then we played with toys until nap time. Enzo couldn't fall asleep today. He cried a bit and then after about 30 minutes of that I let him come down to watch the Wheels on the Bus. I took him out again to see if he would sleep in the car (I spoke to soon).
We thought it might be nice to have a picnic in the front yard tonight. Our kitchen sink is stopped up, so we ordered a pizza. It turned out to be pretty hard to keep Enzo in one spot long enough to eat. Inside, outside, out the gate, around the side of house, on my back, running, rolling, jumping. I got a little irritated with him when he ran out of the gate, so I stopped him a told him to go sit and eat. He ran back into the yard, saying "eat dinner! make daddy happy!" Eventually he sat in my lap and ate some dinner.
We took the dogs for a walk, and then came back to watch a little Totoro before bath. He was really sleepy tonight, and seemed relieved when we put him in the crib.
